After looking at the monster chairs and seeing that they are re designs i feel i should look at the original source and where they come from. The designer is Eero Saanrinen who was famous for his office chair designs.
This is the executive chair and fits into Saanrinens believes of simple, sweeping and arching structual curves. Its simple office chair that is comfortable and fits into most rooms if not all. But what happens when i change the colour to blue it gives the chair a whole new feel and look. The fabric is leather and the legs are stainless steel with a polished chrome finish. Changing the materials could give make it into a different expierence.
The tulip chair is a joint design by Saarinen and Eames. The chair is made of ABS plastic, cast aluminiun base and fabric cushion.The chair was designed to be a dinning chair but this can easily be office chair. I feel the redesigns of these chairs where made to give the chairs more personalityand a more unqiue look. The chairs are well designed but i feel this chair is a little neutral when it comes to character and that the monster chairs solve this problem. I would look into Eames but i feel this is straying to far from my cocnept of colour and human/animal characteristics.
