Thomas Keeley's Bat Chair.. which led to this

While looking through books and websites i came across this chair. The chair is designed by Thomas Keeley who takes everyday objects and makes them into fuly functional art. The wings are made of rubber and the fangs white enamel. Looking at this i feel by adding small features i can make the chair easily feel like something new and give it a appealing quality to the user. Colours and animals are things we have favourites off and are part of our happiness. So how can i use colour and favourtism towards things to shape my chair in a sutle way.

When we choose what chair we will sit on colour comes into it. all the chairs are the same but i personally find i would rather sit in a chair of my favourite colour. By manipulating colour i can make a chair look cold even if its a warm material or make stone look warm., or just using a popular colour would make the chair more appealing to people. however i do like the idea of having the 3 primary colour as a set possibly .

retro vintage modern chair hacksI found these monster chairs which are redesigns of Eero Saarinens classic office chair designs. I cant find who the person who redesigned them or much more information but it shows off my main directions off well. through colour and shape you can give a chair a little life and make its easier for the user to have more of a connection and favourite.
